Yorkshire Modified Show at Pickering 8th June 2008
Quotes from the people who where there.
"Well it was an early start for us all on a sunday morning fortunately i had packed the car up early on saturday to save rushing around.
As i headed for York the roads were nice and quiet yet there seemed to be a lot of fog settling in on route i saw a few cars heading towards the coast and the sun was slowly appearing this was surely the start of a great day out.
As i pulled in at The Highwayman Cafe .... There were quite a few clubs there waiting for other cars to arrive.
Mostly York based clubs it was a pleasant sight to see a subaru amongst them "we get everywhere" Not long after I could see JORB320 in the distance tootling along as he pulled into the layby i though hmm he only has his youngest with him. little did i realise with the tinted windows more were hidden in the back. As myself and Jo stretched our legs we see a flashing a beeping blue van flying towards us yes it was baz going like the clappers to get there ahead of us.
As the rest of the convoy arrived we didnt hang about as we wanted to avoid getting caught up with the other club parked in the layby, So we set off for the final Pickup point just before the showground at Pickering. Im sorry i drove right past it i know. Oh well we got there in the end. With everyone parked up waiting for the stragglers "Help" was taking his time doing his hair. A few more graced our little convoy Paul STi / BIGESH & Steve n Sam , Nice to see them out so early. All smiles for everyone who was there waiting , Good to see even as the Evo II passed us by they gave a beep to say hello , Great to see even the rivals were so polite.
After having a little chat amongst ourselves we all set off again. To meet Baz within the showground. He had found us a great little Island which seperated us all from the other clubs a prime position for the Arena viewing too. Great job.
Upon arrival to stand area claire and myself directed the cars into position and displayed to the public that we dont all drive blue cars with gold wheels. Everyone who was there with us for the day got stuck in helping out in anyone possible It really was a great day for us all the Sun was shining the kids were having a good time and the adults well they were either buying scoobydoo's and clearing the stall out of the stock or getting showplates done for there cars. All except for a few where they were hard at it cleaning and polishing all day long and when they werent there kids were
As a result everyone did what they wanted to do. The Stand was always busy and we spoke to everyone who approached.
I want to thank everyone who made this day such a success , considering the time we had to organise and get the cars together for an event at short notice.
I was really happy to see Mick C win another 2 trophies Best Engine bay and Runner up in best of show. Thanks for joining us for the day.
Here are a few of the pictures i took of the stand through out the day , Thanks again to everyone who pitched in and made it a day to remember i look forward to the next one"
